Sept 29th – TBD
Ana Gilmour Dressage is about. THE HORSES, first and foremost. It is about becoming a better rider, a little bit, each and every day FOR THEM. It is also about the amazing journey our horses give us along the way and the sense of belonging that develops as we build awesome relationships with friends, colleagues and fellow riders.
As you are well aware, our equestrian culture is one of independence and toughness on the exterior, but is also rich with camaraderie, togetherness and sensitivity. It pushes us to greatness, teaches us patience, and reminds us that it’s ok to fall off, as long as we get back on. With the help our horses and the encouragement of those around us, we learn to enjoy the wonderful journey that is the life of riding. At Ana’s barn, the sense of equine community is palpable. She carefully fosters an environment steeped in positivity, where drama is quickly diminished.
No matter what your competitive goals are, it is all about making a plan, committing to it daily, and enjoying your journey.
Ana Gilmour Dressage is about improving you and your riding for the benefit of your HORSE. (And we make sure we have LOTS of fun together along the way!)

As a Grand Prix trainer and competitor, Ana trains with a systematic approach, according to the German Training Scale. At the very bottom of the scale, mental relaxation and confidence in the rider are the two most important things a horse must possess in order for any training to take place. It is necessary for a rider to learn to control themselves and their own body before they can control the horse underneath them, so position, weight placement and seat flexibility and security are addressed with each rider. Ana works with each horse individually, creating a carefully tailored training program to fit specific needs in order to reach the full and uninhibited potential of each horse and/or rider.
Along with Ana’s 20 years of experience in the training and competition world, she also has a history steeped in commitment, having worked together and tirelessly with Olympians Hilda C. Gurney, Lendon Gray, Courtney King-Dye (USA), Juan Matute, Victor Alvarez, and Danielle Martin-Dockx (SPAIN), and Martin Schaudt (GERMANY). Throughout her career, Ana has maintained a steady aim for greatness, an aptitude for distinction, and an attention to detail that results in nothing less than the highest standard of training and performance in her riding as well as her instructing.
