CONSCIOUS BASED HORSEMANSHIP
“A single moment of understanding can flood a whole life with meaning.” – Anonymous
Pine Knoll Center for Integrated Horsemanship is deeply committed to providing learning opportunities and programs designed to foster the health and well-being of horses, the Art of Riding (classical principles which honor the horse’s nature) and Horsemanship. Our programs emphasize the importance of creating a foundation built on congruency and being conscious.
We believe everything matters with horses, starting with their health, biomechanics, nutrition, hoof care, dental and veterinary care. With Conscious Based Horsemanship, we strive to bring our full attention and awareness to our horses. When a horse realizes we are truly listening to them, they begin to trust us and become willing partners. We also pay attention to how we show up with our horses (see our Mindful Rider programs) and invest in our relationship with them.
Horsemanship requires skill. Skill requires knowledge. Knowledge can be acquired.
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” ― Maya Angelou
Pine Knoll Center for Integrated Horsemanship is pleased to support the sea of change and awareness occurring in the horse world. There have always been proponents of a “different way” of being with horses. Pine Knoll Center for Integrated Horsemanship and Founder Gillian Vallis have been advocating for a different way for decades. Now these abusive training practices are being shared on a large scale and tactics that were accepted in the past are no longer acceptable, it appears we are on the verge of a tipping point.
Pine Knoll welcomes the change. We want to be the change we want to see in the horse world. We are here for the people who want to join us in continuing to evolve our understanding of horses and our relationship with them
